Whilst there is no disputing that everyone should experience a Glastonbury or Leeds/Reading at least once in their lives, there is something to be said for the smaller festivals for a more intimate time. When I was putting together the 2010 Festival Calendar I checked out a lot of them and two really stood out.
Glastonbudget on the 28th to 30th May is Europe’s largest tribute & new acts festival – simply genius!
Glastonbudget, the Mecca of Tribute, is now in its 6th year and saw more than 5,000 fans cram-in to see more that 130 amazing bands play 6 stages in May. Next year’s extravaganza of Europe’s best tribute bands and New Acts will be even better. Glastonbudget Music Festival 2010 takes place at Turnpost Farm in Wymeswold, Leicestershire on May 28th, 29th and 30th, 2010.
“Glastonbudget has always been about great music, and great value, this year was the greatest Glastonbudget ever, so we are celebrating and have decided to sell our budget festival tickets using the ultimate budget festival system. Rather like the budget airlines our tickets will be starting at 99p.” Chris Dunn (Co-Organiser)
Cockermouth Rock Festival – Cock Rock 2010 is held on the 16th – 18th July.
Wellington Farm, Cockermouth, Cumbria – www.cockermouthrockfestival.com
Cockermouth Rock Festival is an non profit festival set up to help provide support in the way of funding for two great local causes, The Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance and the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue and to encourage and promote local bands and musicians.
After the recent flooding we think if any area needs support, it’s Cockermouth. And come off it, who wouldn’t want to go to COCK ROCK!
